Ciudad Real Moving south, the city has attracted more business and activity ever since being included on the fast track from Madrid to Sevilla. Ciudad Real or Real City conserves some remnants of its medieval past. Exploring the villages in the area will bring about a great opportunity to get to know the culture aside from the tourism. The town Almagro, which sets south east of Ciudad Real, will be a great stop along the way.

Just so you know: The Real City offers the visitor, these architectural constructions: The Puerta de Toledo, which is Mudejar style. The arch at the entrance to the Alcazar Real was built in what was the last part of the jewish quater. The church of San Pedro is the oldest church in Ciudad Real, it is Romanesque in form. The Iglesia de Santiago is a beautiful 14 and 15 Century Gothic building. The Cathedral of Nuestra Senora del Prado has just one very large nave, outstanding is its marvellous Renaissance-style reredos. The Jewish Quater of Juderia was one of the biggest in Spain, at the present time the only remains are in Ciudad Real Provincial Museum of Museo Provincial, which contains among its most important remains fromt he Paleolithic, late Bronze and Iron Ages. In the fine arts section, several valuable works by Gregorio Prieto, Ubeda and Antonio Lopez Garcia are outstanding. There is also a section devoted to new plastic styles.
